We must accept His payment for us.
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
A gift is always free. If I pay even a fraction of it's value it is no longer a gift. Eternal life is life forever in Heaven. This gift is available only through the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 10:13 tells us how we can accept God's wonderful gift of eternal life. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." To be saved, we would have to be saved from something. If I were drowning and you threw me a rope; I would say that had saved me from drowning. When we pray and ask the Lord Jesus to save us, He saves us from our sin and the penalty of death in Hell.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: " (John 1:12)
Have you ever received Him? Do you remember when you received Him?
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Do you know that you have been born into Gods family?
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved...
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:9, 13)
"I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)
To Repent you must have a change of heart- You must truly BELIEVE the Word of God as it has been revealed unto you above. When we truly believe in something, it changes our actions.
To Repent is to say from your heart:
God, you are right, I am wrong, Your way is right, my way is wrong- Help me to stop living my way and to start live Your way!
Will you trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour?
Will you rely on Him and Him alone to to forgive your sin and give you everlasting life in Heaven?
If you will, say the following prayer to the Lord.
(Remember, to do anything other then receiving Christ is to reject Him.)
" Lord, I admit that I am a sinner. I don't deserve to go to Heaven. But I believe that you sent your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my sin. I trust Him and Him alone to forgive my sin, to become my Savior and to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
In John 6:37 Jesus says, "...Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out."
If you sincerely accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, He promises to let you into Heaven when you die. He promises that he will not under any circumstances (in no wise) cast you out. That's the best news in the World!
If you trusted in Christ today, that is news too good not to share! In fact, the bible says that we should not be ashamed, and even tells us that we should tell others that we have trusted in Christ.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32)
